As with many 'voluntary obligations' I've been intending for some time to supply you with some feedback on the Vietnam Trip. As someone who has been taking groups on tours since the late 1970's , and to some 34 different countries, I always sympathize with Travel group organizers /Leaders and schedules. There were only four participants on the Vietnam tour, and this was both a blessing and a (slight) curse, in that one had to be friendly at all times to the other two; fortunately it was easy! Everything about the tour was top-rate: the three main guides were excellent, caring, thoughtful and a joy to meet; hotels were hospitable, comfortable and clean;transportation was slick (apart from a little crowding on an overnight train... to be expected!), and the Vietnamese people, the scenery, the architecture, food and so on, were a very real and welcome treat. Our only negative reaction was to the sheer amount of garbage throughout the countryside and even on and in Halong Bay etc. I believe this is a government problem but wish that travel companies could -and will - exert a little pressure to have the relevant authorities literally 'clean up their act'. Overall, we were extremely pleased with this latest experience, and the proof is that we are once again using your Tour Company to go to Portugal/Spain and Morocco ( September 19th.....(You should give "frequent flyer/participant points! (smile))). And yes, we've recommended your company to many folk, and some are seriously considering various trips/tours. Perhaps - after Portugal/Spain and Morocco - we can consider either South America (Peru) or Greece. And - by the way - was very pleased with Tristan who has been doing the booking for us for September, a very conscientious agent. Thanks again for a wonderful trip to Vietnam. Wm.
