Day 1: Canada - Rome (Italy)
Flight with good itinerary.
Day 2: Rome
Welcome to Rome! After a meet & greet at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 3: Rome
After breakfast, departure from the hotel for the included tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters’s Basilica with our exclusive “Skip the Line” access! No stress to reach the area: upon arrival, your guide will lead you into the museums where you’ll visit one of the most important art collections of the world.
Walk along the beautiful Galleries of Tapestries and Geographical Maps before admiring Raphael’s Rooms and, then, the amazing Sistine Chapel. After this incredible masterpiece, you will be taken by a privileged door to St. Peters’s Basilica: the biggest church in the world! The tour ends on St. Peter’s Square:
Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city at your own leisure. A good way to reach the major sites of Rome and to get closer to your hotel is to jump aboard the bus “HOP ON HOP OFF – I LOVE ROME” (Not included - approximately 25 EUR per person and must be paid cash directly at destination). Your guide can assist you with the bus “HOP ON HOP OFF – I LOVE ROME” or you can also reserve any one of the selected optional tours that will be proposed to you by your guide!
Day 4: Rome - Assisi - Siena - Florence
Departing at 7:15 am from your hotel by a deluxe coach, you will arrive in Assisi, ready to explore, at your own leisure, this tiny town surrounded by walls, built in the Middle Ages. Take your time to visit the basilica of St. Francis, where you will see masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue and, then, have free time for lunch (not included). Board on the bus to reach Siena, a Unesco World Heritage Site, world-known for the Palio, the historical horse race around the shell-shaped town square: Piazza del Campo. Next, you will continue on to Florence, where you will check in at your hotel before enjoying dinner (included) and a well-earned night of rest.
Day 5: Florence
After breakfast, you will spend the day venturing around beautiful Florence, the “Cradle of Renaissance, where, with the help of Michelangelo, Italian art reached its pinnacle. Based on etruscan-roman origins, the city flourished in the Middle Ages as a free “Comune” and was further refined during the Renaissance. You will be fascinated by the uncountable monuments, churches and buildings as Santa Maria del Fiore, more commonly referred to as the Duomo. On your visit, you will be amazed by its magnificent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi. Cross a small piazza to see the “Campanile” tower (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery, with its bronze doors where Michelangelo imagined the “Gates of Paradise.” In the heart of the city, you will see Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo della Signoria (also known as Palazzo Vecchio), and the Basilica of Santa Croce.
After lunch (included) in a typical Tuscan restaurant in Piazza Santa Croce. Spend the afternoon strolling the cobblestone streets of Florence on your own and return to your hotel on your own at your convenience. (Return transfer to the hotel is not included)
You can also take an optional trip to Pisa (approximately 45 EUR per person and must be paid cash directly at destination). Pisa is one of the four main historical marine republics of Italy. There, you will tour the square of miracles, which houses the Duomo, the leaning tower, and the Baptistery. Dinner (not included) at leisure and overnight stay in Florence.
Day 6: Florence - Bologna - Padua - Venice
After breakfast in Florence, departure to Bologna. There, you will discover the elegant city centre with its “porticos”, it’s shopping streets and so on. From Piazza Malpighi you will walk to Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore (Neptune square and Major square) in the heart of the city, then King Renzo’s Palace; Palazzo Podestà and the basilica of San Petronio, one of the biggest in the world. Bologna it’s a real gourmet’s heaven…don’t miss a tasty meal (not included) at your own leisure! In the afternoon, continue toward Padova, with Sant’Antonio Basilica: one of the most visited churches by pilgrims of the catholic world. Later in the afternoon, arrival in Venice: the City of Love, one of the most romantic cities of the whole world and, undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man! Check in at your hotel for dinner (included) and overnight stay.
Day 7: Venice
After breakfast, enjoy your private water-taxi transfer to Piazza San Marco, with “Skip the Line” tickets to visit the splendid St.Mark’s Basilica and, after this, check out the most iconic places of the “Floating City”: the Palazzo dei Dogi, symbol of Venice’s glorious past, the legendary “Bridge of Sighs”. Spend the afternoon roaming along Venice’s canals at your leisure and then return to the hotel for dinner (included) and overnight.
Day 8: Venice - Montepulciano (Tuscany wine region) - Rome
After breakfast, departure from Piazzale Roma heading to Tuscany, world-known for its landscapes, its churches and castles and its delicious wines. You will proceed to Val di Chiana with a stop in Montepulciano, a medieval town rich in history and art. Known for its “Nobile” wine, on purchase in local wine houses, Montepulciano also hosts an annual jazz and wine festival every July. Spend the afternoon discovering Montepulciano at your own pace, enjoying free wine tastings in many wine shops and free time for shopping. In the evening, you will arrive in Rome to check in into your hotel. (Lunch and dinner not included)
Day 9: Rome - Civitavecchia (Italy)
Breakfast at the hotel and morning at your disposal. Meet your driver at 7:30 P.M. (Approx) for your transfer to Civitavecchia Port (Terminal Grimaldi Lines) and board on the Cruise Ferry to Barcelona. Departure at 11:00 P.M. (Approx.) Overnight on board.
Day 10: Barcelona (Spain)
Arrival in Barcelona. Breakfast and lunch on board. Enjoy your time and discover the variety and quality of services that these kind of Cruise Ferries can offer; a wide open space with pool (for adults and kids), lounges, bars, disco, a cafeteria (open 24 hours); self service or a la carte restaurants, boutiques, internet lounges, health center and a gym with technogym equipment. Arrival in Barcelona at 7:00 P.M. approx. disembark from the Ferry and transfer to Barcelona. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 11: Barcelona
Breakfast at the hotel. Make your way to the bus terminal for a morning highlights city tour of Barcelona well-known worldwide for the Olympic Games during 1992, Barcelona is known as the capital of Modernism and the place where famous architect Antoni Gaudí lived.
Unforgettable way to get to know the city with a sightseeing tour, as well as from above with the Montjuic cable car, which offers incredible views, a visit to the renowned Poble Espanyol, and finally a chance to lose yourself in the streets of the Gothic Quarter with a pleasant stroll. Afternoon at leisure to discover this city full attractive offers.
Day 12: Barcelona - Madrid (by train)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Sants train station to depart by AVE, high speed train to Madrid. Enjoy the journey with the comfort and operating speed of this AVE train. Arrival and transfer from the train station to your hotel.
The rest of the day is at your own leisure.
Day 13: Madrid - Cordoba - Seville
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus terminal. Drive along La Mancha, Don Quixote’s land. Brief stop at typical site in Puerto Lapice. Cross through the natural border of “Despeñaperros” and get into Andalusia, a region for itself that shows an enormous heritage from a splendorous past. Reach Cordoba. Impressive tour of its Mosque and other sites that will ease our mind and spirit strolling through its narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter. In the afternoon, after a short ride reach Seville.
Day 14: Seville
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning panoramic city tour visiting: the exterior of the Cathedral (the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peters in Rome), Santa Cruz quarter (a natural scenario of “Carmen” as well as a precisely where the myth of “Don Juan” developed), Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Afternoon at leisure for you to discover exclusive views, specific flavors of this active full of light city.
Day 15: Seville - Granada
After breakfast at the hotel drive east through the Caliphate road to the heart of Andalusia observing an endless number of olive trees on the way to Granada and its incredible and amazing monumental environment, last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms up to 1492. Visit the world famous Alhambra complex and Generalife Gardens, that have inspired several authors with its sound and sights, such as the “Tales of the Alhambra” by W. Irving.
Day 16: Granada - Toledo - Madrid
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive northward where it emerges, toward the sky of Castilla and surrounded by the Tagus River, the impressive Imperial city of Toledo -World Heritage City- where the three cultures Christians, Moorish and Jewish, have lived together. Resume of the Spanish art, history and spirituality the whole town is a National Monument. Short guided tour of this historical old town through its narrow streets. Then proceed with a visit to a famous “Damasquinado” (gold and silver inlaying in iron) factory. Continue to Madrid.
Day 17: Madrid
After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to discover the Spanish capital and its main attractions. With your Hop on-Hop off pass, you will be able to decide of your visits of the day.
Day 18: Madrid - Canada
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
