We are quite satisfied with all your arrangement and service, especially the tour guide in Egypt named Elia who was very knowledgeable and of excellent service. With comparison, the tour guide in Jordan was somehow disppointed. Almost all of our tour members had same feelings. We missed some spots in Amman, such as Museum and Blue Mosque, he did not mention it and even no any explanation. However, we all enjoyed our trip and have had great fun. All 16 tour members were quite friendly and of help to each other. Again, thank you so much for your all staff's efforts to make such wonderful trip for us. We will definitely plan our next trip with Windguddy.

A wonderful trip. We had an exceptional guide in Egypt. Islam instantly related to our group (which was also great by the way) and did much to make our experience outstanding. This is the second time I have used Wingbuddy and will do so again in the future. Downside was a group of Francophones that after Jordan requested their french speaking guide. I am sure this impacted our guide in regards to tips etc.

13 NIGHTS / 15 DAYS

Day 1: Canada - Amman (Jordan)
Flight with a good itinerary

Day 2: Amman
Arrival at the airport in Amman. You will be greeted by our representative who will help you through formalities and transferred to your hotel in Amman. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Dinner)

Day 3: Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Shoubak Castle - Petra
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure toward Madaba, a city famous for its mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the 6th century and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Continuation to Mt. Nebo, a 810 metres (2,651 ft) high mountain mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land that he would never enter.

You will then drive to Shoubak, where an impressive castle stands as a lonely reminder of former Crusader glory. Known to the crusaders as Montreal Castle, it was built in 1115 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem and owned by the royal family for less than a century before falling to foreign invaders. Arrival in Petra in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Petra. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 4: Full day in Petra
After breakfast at the hotel, you will start your full-day tour of the legendary Nabatean city of Petra. Considered as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. You will enter the city through a 1-km long narrow gorge which is flanked on both sides by 80 metres (262 ft) high cliffs with dazzling colors and amazing rock formations. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs, roman-style theatres, temples dedicated to gods and kings, sacrificial altars, colonnaded streets and of course the Al Khazneh or "The Treasury of Petra". In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Petra on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Petra. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 5: Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum - Dead Sea
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning you will visit Little Petra, an archeological site included in Petra's inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ancient buildings sculpted out of solid red sandstone. A suburb of the city of Petra, Little Petra was the place where Nabateans used to entertain their guests. It was one of the main commercial areas of Petra, the entry and exit point for the trade routes to the north and north-west.

Later you will explore Wadi Rum on a 2-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was described by T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, as "vast, echoing and god-like", and is dubbed by the locals "valley of the Moon". You will then be transferred from Petra to your hotel on the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight in the region of the Dead Sea. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 6: Dead Sea - Jerash - Amman
Breakfast at the hotel and departure northward to Jerash. You will explore the roman city of Jerash with a local English-speaking guide. This 2-hour tour will take you back to ancient times thanks to well-preserved paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, theatres, spacious public squares, plazas, baths, fountains from the 1st century A.D.

After the visit, you will be transferred to Amman for a 2-hour tour of the capital city of Jordan. You will see wonderful historical sites such as the Amman Citadel, the Amphitheatre, the Blue Mosque and the Archeological and Folklore museums. At the end of the afternoon you will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Breakfast-Dinner)

Day 7: Amman (Jordan) - Cairo (Egypt)

With the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, the Sphinx of Giza is watching over the pyramids. Enjoy some free time to wander around this amazing site, take pictures and visit the interior chambers ($) of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

In 1965, they were moved to a new location thanks to an international project which saved them from the flooding caused by the construction of the High Dam.

Day 11:  Edfu - Esna - Luxor
After breakfast on board, you will visit the temple dedicated to Horus which is one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. It was built between 237 and 57 BC. Following lunch on board, you will navigate along the Nile toward Esna and Luxor through beautiful desert landscapes. Dinner and overnight on board. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)

How much of a deposit is required?

You need to make a 50% deposit upon reservation to secure your seats. If your departure is in less than 60 days, the full amount is due when booking.

When is the balance due?

The balance is due 60 days prior to the departure date.

Is it a guaranteed departure?

Yes, all our departures are guaranteed.

What is the group size?

Groups are between 20 and 35 people maximum.

Is triple occupancy available?

Triple occupancy is not available for this package. The reason is that the cabin on the cruise ship and the private compartment on the train can only accommodate 2 people. For 3 people traveling together, we will book 2 separate rooms. If you are traveling with young children, please mention it to your reservation agent.

Will there be someone waiting for us at the airport?

Yes, our local operators will welcome you before the passport control and assist you with the visa formalities. You will be directly transfered to the hotel.

Is it possible to book additional tours?

Yes, there are two optional tours offered for this package (Day 10: Abu Simbel excursion and Day 14: Pyramid sound & light show). To make sure you secure your seats, it is preferable to book them when making your reservation. If you are undecided, you will be able to book them with your guide depending on availability and pay in cash or credit card in USD.

Are tips included?

For Jordan, you are free to tip your guide and drivers at your discretion - we suggest 3 JD for the guide and 2 for the driver / day and per person. For Egypt, the tips are to be paid directly at destination to your guide when you get to Cairo. They are in USD and have to be paid in cash. Feel free to tip at your discretion other local services such as the hotel, cruise ship and restaurant staffs.

What is the average cost of a meal?

This organized tour package takes care of most of your meals which will minimize your expenses. The ones that are not included will be taken at local restaurants where you will have the choice of a buffet. The cost of a meal is $15 CAD / $11 USD on average.

Is it possible to add extra nights?

Yes, you may add extra nights to your package. We can add nights in Amman before or in Cairo after the tour. Simply make the request with your reservation agent who will change your flights accordingly. We strongly recommend including the same hotels as we will be able to reschedule your transfers. The price will be confirmed by your agent depending on availability.

Is it safe to go on this tour?

Yes, this package is very secure. At all times, you will be taken care of by your local expert guide who will accompany you everywhere you need to go. The places you will visit along the Valley of the Nile are no longer under travel advisory from the Gorvernment of Canada. All of our clients who took this tour have felt very secure throughout their entire stay. They have expressed their satisfaction to have finally been able to make their dream come true.

How should I dress?

While tradition is very important in the Egyptian and Jordanian cultures, you will be able to dress to your liking without too much trouble. You are not expected to wear local clothing. In public places, it's okay to wear short-sleeves, knee-length dresses, and shorts. As a rule and just like anywhere else, we encourage travelers to be respectful of the local traditions.

How is the night on the sleeping train?

The sleeping train will allow you to travel from Cairo to Aswan at night and directly check-in on the cruise ship the next day. Your guide will be with you on the train, the ride is about 12 hours. Supper and breakfast are provided on board. You will have a private compartment (for 2 people maximum) that you can close at night. There is a sink and an electrical outlet you can use, the bathroom is in the hallway. The sleeping arrangements are bunk beds and you will have a pillow, sheets and a blanket.

How long do we stay in Petra?

You have full day in Petra - Day 4. The tour with the guide is about 3 hours (horse ride and Treasury visit), the rest of the day is free. You may decide to take a 4x4 or carriage to move around more quickly as Petra is a very big site. You will meet your guide back at the Entrance at an agreed upon time.

Do we get to swim in the Dead Sea?

Yes, you will have free time to enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea in the afternoon and evening of Day 5 after checking-in at the hotel.
