6 Nights / 8 Days

Day 1: Canada - Reykjavik (Iceland)
Flight with a good itinerary.

Day 2: Reykjavik
Upon arrival at the airport in Iceland, make your way toward the bus terminal for the transfer to your hotel. Airport shuttles (Flybus) depart every 30 to 40 minutes and seats are always available on board. The rest of the day is free for you to start your exploration of Reykjavik, the capital and largest city in the country.

Ingolfur Arnarson, the first Icelandic settler, built his farm on the peninsula where Reykjavik is today. The city owes its name, "Bay of Smoke", to the steam jets that could be seen rising from hot springs in the region and which probably impressed the first european settlers.

Day 3: South Shore Adventure
Breakfast at the hotel and departure toward Vik. You will drive along the South Shore, one of the main farm regions in the country, and pass by typical Icelandic farms, often with Icelandic horses roaming in the fields. If the skies are clear you might see the area's two most famous volcanoes in the distance: Mount Hekla (last eruption in 2000) and Eyjafjallajokull (last eruption in 2010).

You will stop at the spectacular waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. If trail conditions are right, walk behind the ribbon-like Seljalandsfoss falls. A few kilometers away, Skogafoss is a beautifully shaped waterfall, with an interesting geological history, that makes a perfect backdrop for a photo. Visit the Skogar folk museum to learn how the first settlers lived in Iceland. Heading onward and passing Myrdalsjokull Glacier, you will visit Reynisfjara Beach. Take a walk on the black sand, admiring the extraordinary rock formations and thundering waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Return to Reykjavik. (Breakfast)

Day 4: Reykjavik - Northern Lights Hunt
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day at leisure to continue your exploration of the region around Reykjavik. You can also opt for one of the optional tours ($) available, ranging from traditional sightseeing to soft adventure activities. (Breakfast)

Northern Lights hunt:
In the evening, take part in a guided Northern Lights hunt tour. Far from the glow of Reykjavik, hunt for the elusive Northern Lights. From autumn until spring, during clear and cold dark nights, it is possible to witness one of nature's most incredible displays: Aurora Borealis. On this evening tour, you may be lucky enough to see them swirling and dancing across the sky changing endlessly their color, shape, and size.

*In the event that Northern Lights have not been observed, a second evening will be offered the next day with no additional cost. Please note that the Northern Lights hunt is only available between October and March inclusively.

Day 5: The Golden Circle
After breakfast at your hotel. Departure toward Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the world’s oldest parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland’s largest lake. You might even have the rare chance to walk between two continents as the national park is on the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates!

In the afternoon, you will continue on to the geothermal fields of Geysir with bubbling mud pools and the high-spouting Strokkur, the most active geyser in the area. Last but not least, you will see the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall, where thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down double ledges into a deep canyon. Return to Reykjavik. (Breakfast)

Day 6: Blue Lagoon
Following breakfast at your hotel, depart for the stunning Blue Lagoon, a spectacular geothermal spa where lava and thermal water meet and complement one another. The Blue Lagoon’s warm water and natural active ingredients (mineral salts, silica, and blue-green algae) will help you relax and unwind while the Blue Lagoon white silica mud gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin. The minerals salts balance and relax body and soul.

After a few hours to enjoy all the amenities of the Blue Lagoon, a shuttle (Flybus) will pick you up, ultimately stopping at the central bus terminal, where you will then be redirected to smaller shuttles that will take you to your hotel. Please make sure to let the bus-driver know the name of your hotel when boarding the shuttle at the Blue Lagoon. (Breakfast)

Day 7: Reykjavik - At leisure
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day at leisure to continue your exploration of the region around Reykjavik. You can also opt for one of the optional tours ($) available, ranging from traditional sightseeing to soft adventure activities. (Breakfast)

Day 8: Reykjavik - Canada
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time to wander around the old town of Reykjavik. You are registered for a transfer to the airport. First you will be transferred from your hotel to the central bus station in Reykjavik. Then, you will board an airport shuttle (Flybus) to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast)
